History

The Cyrus Group began operations as an importer of bulk commodities, primarily foodstuff and fertilizers. Recognizing the market need for real quality control in the importation of grain products, Cyrus was the first in the region to import bulk rice, upgrade and repackage for consumer consumption at point of destination. The success was self-evident in the exclusive distribution to 1800 co-ops in the region with over 6 million family members and the supply to government institutions as well as the Private Sector.
Identifying opportunities and recognizing weaknesses in the market is a skill of the Company’s management and was applied to other bulk product sectors. Finding a, more efficient and cost effective way to supply products has become Cyrus’ key expertise in rice, grain, fertilizer, pesticides which expanded into Bitumen and other oil products such as gas oil, fuel oil, base oil and lubricants.
Having identified shortfalls in the market and a need for reliable choice in its areas of operations, the Cyrus Group introduced six wholly owned specialized vessels and set-up the necessary operational units in the UAE, Oman, Djibouti, Sudan, Ethiopia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Qatar with fully controlled in-house the logistical chain. Today, this includes eight vessels and over 200 wholly Group owned and controlled fleet of Road Tankers and Iso-Bitutainers ensuring accurate and timely deliveries to the end user.
The Cyrus Group has grown from a single manufacturing facility to a broad network of manufacturing, shipping, construction, sales and marketing offices over time. Across the Middle East, Africa and extending into Europe and the U.S., Cyrus offers its global customers products and services that consistently exceed all expectations.
